An MS will NOT help you with your PhD. You will pretty much have to start over (you will save a few classes, but that is a small part of the PhD). MIS and MS in CompSci have very little to do with each other. I would suggest studying business or some other area that will need programmers, but where most programmers do not have experience.

No offense, but you know the most marketable skill in the world, why don't you enter the workplace as-is.

Frankly, people would love to pay you for what you already know and they'll teach you whatever "MIS" or CRM or whatever you care for.

Wouldn't you like to stop driving your 9 year old Honda and start driving something newer and think about stop paying rent and owning something?

Put up your resume with your current credentials on the big sites and see what type of fish you can catch. Look to a direction which will serve you.

Sadly enough, you'll get more out of reading "SAP for dummies" rather than getting a Management Information Studies degree - the MIS degree only generally talks about CRM software - MS CRM or SAP is an actual program which companies can use and will pay for.
