I loved this show. It was never boring, and dealt with real issues like Racism, drug abuse and rape. I thought Carrol O'Connor played the role
of Chief Gillespie in such a way that it made you feel like he was family. Being from the South, I felt this show was excellent in not typically typecasting those of us that live in the southern part of the United States, as being unintelligent, incestuous, tobacco chewing, beer drinking, deer killing, trailer living idiots. (good question!)
