Try some of the creams with capsaicin. This will help the pain.

Ibuprofen in moderation can help with the inflamation in the joints.

I have heard that carrying a peice of obsidian will help osteoarthritis. I have neither forms of arthritis; so I don't know if this actually works.

I had Osteoarthritis from Lupus so bad that I was completely bedfast for 3 1/2 yrs. A caretaker finally talked me into trying an herb called Pycnogenol which over time has cured me of Lupus. I still use a lot of the things Goldista (the contributor above) mentioned. Vitamins and glucosamine/chondroitin with MSM are very important for you, but try the Pycnogenol for about 6 months and you'll see your pain go away. I have been taking it for 12 years now. It works.

Omega 3 and omega 6 are anti-inflammatory. You can get them in cold water fish, fish oil capsules, flaxseed and nuts.

Get Boswellan creme at the health food store, or any creme with capsaicin in it.

Drink ginger tea made with dried ginger and use turmeric in cooking. Both reduce inflammation.

Keep the joints warm.

Get a parafin bath to use at home.

Avoid stressing the joints.

Some people take glucosamine/chondroitin to lubricate the joints. It is a supplement not a medication.
