Because gays are human beings who deserve to have the same rights as everyone.
I am not gay, but I don't really care what someone does in their bedroom. It is their business, as long as it is not illegal or harmful to someone. How is it fair that married people can enjoy benefits if they are heterosexual but gay people can't just because they happen to be gay? It's utter hypocrisy and discrimination and it sucks. It's not fair to them because gays can be productive contributing tax paying members of society too.
Aside from all of that, and there is no solid argument against same sex marriages. Opposition to same sex marriages are based on opinions and attitudes, and not equality and fact.

I'm not gay,but people live their lives as according to their needs and perference.Should we really allow politicians to dictate how we should live our livestyles?Surely not,further more this isnt even a questionable matter.What if the table were to be turned and the question was targetted to hetrosexual couples...Each person has the basic human rights to enjoy their sexual perference...Why is it we keep debating this long over due topic?Gays are humans and they are here,very influencial might I add...Would people prefer gay men and woman entering hetrosexual relationship and deep down they dont enjoy it? Because according to the constutution they aren't illegal!!!! This should be an non issue....seperation of the church and state what happened to that ...friggin religious nuts...live and love and let others do the same with whomever they want focus on something worth fighting for like world peace or feeding hungry children ect... ect... ect...

same sex marriages should be legal because nobody has the right to tell anyone you cant do something because of archaic religious beliefs or personal opinion,those two people marrying are humans no matter what their sexual orientation,every human is equal.
