I agree totally. There are so many situations in which a team could foul (when up 3) and they don't. It gives the other team so much momentum heading into the overtime period. I don't understand why teams don't foul. Stupid!!!

I don't think that is an easy decision to make. I guess you have to go with the odds. The shot that Lewis hit was a difficult one, a low percentage one too. The worst that can happen in that situation (which did happen) is that OSU sends it to OT. If you foul, the worst that can happen is you lose (OSU hits 1 FT, rebounds the miss and hits a three). I'd say the odds are better by forcing OSU to take a tough shot to tie it up, which is what happened. Of course, Xavier then proceeded to blow it in OT, but that's another story entirely.

that is right
foul them and then OSU has to make the first and purposely miss the second and get the rebound and then make a shot to win... all in 9 seconds.
but how bout the Xavier player (i think it was cage) who missed the free throw to ice the game? you gotta make that shot. i am so mad xavier lost.

I don't. In my pool, I picked Ohio. But, if I was cheering for Xavier, then yes they should have, but again, who would have thought that Ohio would make the 3 pointer?

I agree. I have always wondered why they don't? I think that basicaaly you don't want to stop the clock and give the opponant a chance to score with no ticks.

yes i agree. oden was out and all their small guys were on the floor. how can't you foul them. make first, miss second, get rebound, and put it back. that's hard with 6'6" or 6'5" being your tallest. but also it was a difficult shot that he really shouldn't have made. Xaivier that they had it. but they didn't......

They could've and seal perhaps the biggest upset in the tournament, but they didn't. Still, that was one heck of a game.
