Does that model have the laser range finder for the cruise control? If it does like some of the high end Lexus do, that could be your problem. The laser range finder tells the cruise control when you are to close to a vehicle in front of you. Some newer high end cars have a partially automatic braking system also that if you get to close to an obstruction it senses it, through a laser range finder, and applies the brakes automatically. Sounds like you need a trip to the dealer.
