we are trying to pick out a crib... that meets all regulations, has bars on all 4 side, very sturdy, and isnt too expensive. I usually look on Amazon.com at the stars an reviews, but there are like none for any of the cribs! I think I would like one I could possibly buy at walmart, taget, babies r us (something near us - a store we trust)

I have a Simplicity Aspen 4 in One crib from Walmart. It has a roller drawer thing underneath and it grows with baby into a full size bed for when they get older. It also has a drop down side on it. It was only like 130 dollars. It is vert sturdy and has wheels. I like it alot but I wish it would fit through the door way so baby can sleep all over the house. (I guess that is why I have 2 pack and plays......)

Check out Consumer Reports online for great info on crib safety and the brands that best meet their strict criteria. You have to pay a yearly fee, but it's not that much when you consider the great info you get. There's also info on more baby items with average prices, recalled items, and other helpful parenting tips. Once you check this out it should be easier to do a search and see what stores carry the brand you want. One good suggestion on baby cribs that Consumer Reports makes is that you should take a can of soda with you when shopping. If you can pass the can through the bars of the crib, don't get the crib.

We ordered nursery in a box by simplicity from walmart. It comes with the crib, 4 drawer dresser and a changing table. For 200 bucks. I know a lot of people are not into changing tables but it personally works for me. The crib aslo will change into a day bed and transitional bed. It also comes in different color woods. I haven't had a problem with any one of them. And it worked out great for us! Things are so expensive these days and we couldn't imagine buying everything seperately, think of how expensive that would of been! I'm glad we ended up finding something like this. Good luck!

Try Babies R US...they have the cribs set up in the store so you can see them all put together. You can probably go to their website and see if there are any reviews before you go to the store too. Good luck!

We got ours at Wal-Mart. It is by Aspen. Very reasonable, easy to put together. It doubles at a toddler bed with short rails after the crib is not longer safe (like when the baby can climb out). It was not expensive at all, and I put it together my self. Also it has many many levels for the mattress, so you can lower the baby gradually.

I'll show you the link to the one I got. It is wonderful. It turns into a bed and it's real cherry wood and only 370.00. I like to invest my money into something that will last me a long time. I hate buying things that need to be replaced. So why not get great quality and something that'll last for a few years to come! I got mine from babysrus.
