It really does look like that. The only thing that me, as a Pats fan, has to hope and hope is that the injuries are held to a minimum.
(Aside: Dooode, I'm so excited)
Okay, back to seriousness... The thing is, last years defense and offense were just so mediocre, and yet, Belicheck took them to the Championship game. This year just seriously scares me because suddenly Tom Brady has people to go to, and it's more than just Vrable and Bruschi in the Linebacker corp, not to mention, we still have Seymour, Wilfork, and Warren upfront, not to mention, Jarvis Green is nothing to sneeze at...
And just so I'm not obvious ;) It of course, could all go wrong, as it could for every team. The Patriots could wind up with horrible injuries or something and a team like Oakland could go 16-0... but... I seriously don't think that'll happen.

The Pats may very well have the best defense in football, but it's not the defense that opposing teams need to worry with, we all saw this past season, that the old addage defense wins championships, isn't neccesarily true. I am not a pats fan, I actually loathe them, but the simple fact is TOM BRADY JUST WINS, and he now has players around them. The honest truth is any team can beat any team on any day, but if your a team who would you rather NOT see Thomas and the new revamped New England defense or Tom Brady and a fast as lighting one and a sure handed two and a better than "workable" number three. ANd let's not forget about the Raiders, yes they are the worst offensive team to ever play any sport in the history of the world, but they won 2 games that they should not have won because of the 3rd best defense in football, behind only the Bears, who will lose Briggs, and the Ravens, who have lost the afore mentioned Adailus Thomas. While the Raiders are an aging defense they really haven't lost any players on that D since Charles Woodson a year ago and they missed him about as much as the Chargers miss Ryan Leaf. So they can't be taken for granted.

I hate the Patriots, but they will definitely be a top contender for the Superbowl next season. I was so pissed when they got Adalius Thomas because he is so versatile and the Patriots will definitely use him effectively. I wasn't too thrilled with them getting Stallworth either because he is a much better receiver than any of last year's starters. I'm gonna be so pissed if they win the Superbowl this year.

Pats are going to be incredible this year. As a Chiefs fan, I know the AFC West is tough with the Broncos and Chargers, but I thank God we don't have to play the Pats twice!

the ravens and bears are losing their best defensive players the chargers aren't going to be as good because they were nearly perfect in 2006 the patriots have only acquired players they have a great chance to be the number one defense.
