This is such a good question!

Motivation involves getting reinforcement along the way, and you're so right- just telling someone that if they want it they'll stay motivated isn't cutting it. I suggest that you make it a practice to do things that keep you close to the profession.

Would it be possible to start a Pre-Med club in your high school? Get those kids together that want to become doctors so you can provide each other with moral support?

Read biographies about physicians and historical accounts of medicine in your spare time.

See if you can do candy striping in your local hospital during the summer or after school.

Hang out with other kids who want to be doctors.

Find or start a discussion group on Yahoo about being a doctor or wanting to become one. (You're not alone, and social support helps!)

That’s a really tough question.
First you got to know that it’s a long way to being a doctor keep that in mind yet you have to take everything one step at a time [ focus on graduating high school with grades that insure your acceptance in college]
Second you’ve got to fill yourself with self-confidence and affirmation, no matter what people tell you just look ahead and pursuit your dream, you’ve to have a row model and a source of inspiration.
No matter how hard things get you keep on going, losers quit not knowing how close they were from success.
