I have wondered this myself, but I'm sure it's to keep things from backing up in the drive through. The purpose of drive thru's are to be convenient and efficient. If you don't already know what you want, it's probably best to go inside and ponder over the 30 different donut types. You don't want someone doing that in the drive thru where people really get impatient.

I've always thought that was strange. I think they believe that if someone's going through the drive-thru, they're regular customers already and they know what they want to order.

So you don't realize wat your the cost if of what you are buying even though you ordered it. lol. Plus, the customer coming in asking for a print out menu is way cheaper than having one built at the drive through.
