Why is it that some people never remember, but others, like myself, always do?

A dream is recalled most easily if we awaken during it or immediately after it ends. If more than a few minutes lapse at the end of a dream, we risk forgetting of the dream.
Also dreams might occur in non-REM sleep. The people who dream in REM sleep remember more.

Whether or not you remember your dreams depends on which stage of the sleep cycle you wake up during. The most important part of the cycle is your REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. This is where you dream and what ultimately leaves you feeling rested in the morning. If you wake up in the middle of your REM sleep (during a dream) chances are that you will remember it. If you wake up in any other sleep stage in which you are not currently dreaming, you will not remember it. You have to wake up while still dreaming to remember it. Hope that helps!

People are fortunate when they remember their dreams as they (dreams: are meant to teach you things about your life.
Everyone can remember their dreams they just have to train themselves to do so..I think certain personality types who are "inward" often supress their dreams as they do not want to face what is being told to them. Just my 2 Cents.
