I have an international flight at 11am from JFK, I live in Montgomery county outside Philadelphia. What is the easiest way for me to get there on time?

I would prefer something on the cheaper side. Thanks for your help.

I live in New York City, and unless you come to New York the day before and stay at a hotel near the airport, you will have to leave in the middle of the night before and have a lot of traveling to do (because most transportation will leave you in Manhattan and then you will still have to travel back to Queens to get to JFK).

The main problem is that your flight leaves early in the morning. The "cheapest" way to go would be to take Greyhound to New York City (around $20). The bus will then leave you in Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. There are buses from the terminal (around $10-15) that go to the three area airports. The only problem is that your flight leaves at 11:00 AM, I assume you need to be at the airport a few hours ahead and JFK Bus service starts at around 6 AM with the ride taking about an hour. However you can check the websites below for more information.

Your best option might be to see if you could find a flight from Philly to JFK. It might run you about the same amount of money and save you a lot of hassle getting around.

Are you sure you don't want to drive this and am I correct in thinking that this trip needs to be done on a sunday morning ?
Also exactly where is your starting point ?
thank you
More ;
You can get from Philly to NYC in 2.5- 3hrs and twenty bucks easily . The busses run every hour or so
And if you take a subway from The Port Authority one stop - $2.00 - to Penn Station
You can take the Long Island Rail Road to Jamaica Station $5.00 and the catch the Airtrain to JFK $5.00
From 4:00 -6:00 AM the LIRR runs about every 20 minutes and then every 10 minutes thereafter.
The trip to Jamaica takes 20 minutes and the Airtrain another 5-7 minutes.
You really need to be at JFK 2.5 hours earlier , it tends to be a real mess.
so let us know

There's a 5:52 amtrak train to NYPenn station that gets you there by 7:15. Thats $45.

from there you can take subway connections to JFK should get you there before 9:00 am in time for check in. Look up the Train to the Plane in the MTA website.

Or you can go over to the Port Authority and take the bus as indicated in the above posts.
