At first, I was enjoying the new direction J.K. Rowling was going in Book 4 of the Harry Potter series. She changed from a plot-driven text to a psychological narrative, and I was intrigued. But the last few chapters of the book are truly terrible. I was angered that a character I liked, Professor Moody, doesn't even exist; he's merely an unconscious old man in a trunk. And the fact that Barty Crouch has the same name as his dad was just stupid. I hate it when authors spring things on me -- at those points, I stop caring about the story. Finally, Voldemort is a horribly boring nemesis for Harry. He talked FOREVER, pages upon pages. He revealed an entire plot the reader knew very little about a la Scooby Doo.

What do you think about the Goblet of Fire?

I wasn't bothered by this at all. It was an AMAZING book and to me the most entertaining book in the series so far!

No. The thing that annoyed me about the Harry Potter books is how they started out so immature like Barney and now they are rated R. What's up with that? Why did she do that? And i think she could still extend her books some more. There is a lot of stuff that is left out.

I didnt enjoy Goblet of Fire nearly as much as the first 3 books..But then I enjoyed book 5 even less..I thought Harry was such a disrespectful brat...Then in the 6th book, she had me again..lol...I cant wait for #7.. While it is true that Moody wasnt really Moody, you know that he is really like that since they all know him so well and they didnt suspect a thing..Then in book 5 you see him again and he is the same..I didnt like the Barty Crouch thing either..So I guess I agree with you pretty much..lol...

no, i adored the book. i liked the springiness also along with the last few chapters. the only reason that jk rowling springs things on u like the whole moody thing is because it makes the story interesting!

I loved the book and can't wait for the last book to come out to find out what happens. Book 6 was also great.

well, ok i'm not the biggest fan of her writing which methinks is mediocre, however a good storyteller she might be. but yes i agree with the moody argument, which doesn't piss me off so much in that book, as in the next, when u meet him and they don't really even say much bout him or his character, which much be a bit different to the crazy death eater. the same name as the father bit, is a bit of a cop out, but i don't mind it so much.
