The origin of the rings of Saturn (and the other jovian planets) is unknown. Though they may have had rings since their formation, the ring systems are not stable and must be regenerated by ongoing processes, perhaps the breakup of larger satellites. The current set of rings may be only a few hundred million years old.

Mostly collisions that break a colliding object into smithereens. The smithereens all get tossed into orbit and form rings.

Debris from collisions with other stars, meteors, asteroids (etc) that hit the planet and gravity eventually pulls it until it has its own orbit

also I found this interesting fact in our observatory database for you ...

The bright rings of Saturn have puzzled scientists ever since Galileo first observed them in about 1610. He initially thought of Saturn as a triple planet because he could discern only two irregular blobs of light, one on either side of the planet itself. Then in 1655 Christian Huygens proposed that these blobs were actually a flattened system of rings circling the planet above its equator

I'm sure a lot of people would like to know that answer.

I'm pretty sure gravity has a major role in keeping the rings there though, HAH
