Iran and all the middle east know's we could blow them all away, so why do they keep pushing us?

No Duh, He has me standing next to him and I would push the button without hesitation.
No, I am not a NAZI just someone who will not let a fanatic dictate how I will live. This includes you duh, joey1207 or some idiot mullah in Iran.
I am someone who has little tolerance for someone who thinks his God has given him the right to kill me because I do not believe like he does. I have less for those who think he has that right or that I am wrong for being closed minded about fanatics.

So much for deterrence.
So what are all these nukes good for exactly?
MAD may just have made sense in a superpower stand off, with a reasonable chance of both sides being rational.
(Though it seems the Cuba missile crisis came nearer than we knew)
But they are useless against a nation whose leadership isn't going to be be deterred due to being fanatical, or indifferent to casualties in their own populace.
And useless against a terrorist group who do not offer a nuclear target.
And a missile defence system is useless against a nuke smuggled in in a shipping container.
Depending on what insurance you feel is still necessary to give pause to China and Russia, money is better spent on intelligence, conventional forces and (revolutionary thought) making friends.

Well, let's see. America has taken over Afghanistan--to the east of Iran. America has taken over Iraq--to the west of Iran. Israel is just north of Iraq. What would you like to see done, if the miniscule cross-section of Islam that makes up Islamofacists took over Canada and Mexico? We'd be dropping nukes right now. Make no mistake, we are protecting the pipelines that we laid across the Caspian sea after the Afghanistan invasion. We are protecting the pipelines in Iraq that are pumping oil north into Israel, unchecked. Now, we want the extremely rich oil fields that make up the southern 10% portion of Iran. Everyone knows that Iran's Supreme leader never made the supposed comment about wiping Israel off the map. That was a rumor from the start, but our media reported it as fact. Quit falling for the propaganda. BTW, I'm a conservative. I voted for Bush twice before I finally woke up to what was happening. Now, I realize that the Democrats and Republicans are essentially the same party. Right vs. left is an illusion. We should be worried about right vs. wrong. Vote for Ron Paul!

Yes and do u suppose THAT threat is the reason why the middle east is reacting the way they do. If u knew there was a threat on yr home... if someone were to come and threaten the lives of your family and take all yr supplies and possessions, that maybe... just maybe you wld want to do something to defend yrself???

Sure, we can nuke the area. Kill hundreds of millions of people (almost entirely civilians). Set the oil fields on fire for decades. Make the entire cradle of civilization a radioactive wasteland.
And no country in the world would ever trust us or deal with us voluntarily again.
