Foxtrot, "Jitterbug", "lindy", waltz, later the "Twist", and such as the "mashed potato", basically late 50's was "Jitterbug" as in 1944. Then it all changed in a few years.

Well got to skate, gonna cut a rug, and boogie woogie with my squeeze, so put on a poodle skirt and lets do the town
tonight.
