I have observed that sound can be added only to individual actions. But can we make the whole presentaion run along a music in the background ? If yes, how ?

Insert the sound that you want to be playing

Go to slide show and then custom animation

On multimedia actions click the option for while playing continue slide show

For the stop playing choose the option for after ( ?) slides and enter the number so that it covers how many slides you have. Then press ok!

When you view the presentation it will play all the way through

Yes, you can attach a music file to the PPt presentation. Its in the slide show area of the instructions.

Go to the PPT tutorial, or Help file, and use the keywords music or narration. There should be detailed information there.

If you have books on PowerPoint or on Microsoft Office, the information should be in there as well.

Yes, you should be able to find something in there that says ADD MUSIC or something. Or go to Help and search Music. Surely they wouldn't make something so big as Power Point and have no music adding button. Go to it, and add!

Please do not add music unless absolutely necessary. For professional methods of delevering presentations i would suggest you look at presentationzen.com and the various 'methods' poeple have developed of deleviring unique presentations.

Usually music looks (err, sounds) a bit amatuerish, but it all depends upon the application. But i would not recommend it.
