Friend....peace is inside of you right now. The light that we all look for as we travel our path in life has always been within us. We are just too busy looking for it from an outside source. No matter what kind of turmoil this world is going through today or when we pass...peace is something you already have.

True peace is likely to be internal...you need to do some soul-searching and find that place inside yourself.

If the question is about world peace, then let me ask you: are you talking about *lasting* peace, as in for a long time or forever? If so, then probably not -- too many variables, and people (in general) just aren't enlightened enough to really care about other people.

Further, I'm not even sure we should *want* ever-lasting peace. Nevermind starving animals who can't prey on each other, but conflict and struggle are soul-making opportunities and life-affirming...they remind us of what's important, what's worth fighting and living for. Otherwise, we get too complacent and the state of peace will end anyway (because we don't take care to maintain it or remember its urgency).

Peace, like life, is valuable to us because it's temporary and we want more of it. If we take away that fleeting quality, then we won't appreciate it as much.

Therefore, if you can appreciate each day you have -- as you should -- I'm willing to bet that peace will come to your soul. Even if you're sick, appreciate the fact that your body is fighting for your life. Even at the micro/cellular/molecular level, there's a battle going on...which is necessary for the circle of life.

Sadly no, im 18 and there probably wont be world peace in my life time. Not because of what’s going on today, but just looking at the human mind, shows peace is unrealistic. Why, because people love, lol sounds strange, well it is, love is powerful, ones love for another human, for religion or what you believe in, your country, your family/friends. Its sad that mans greatest emotion is its undoing, just think about the implications if love did not exists, there would be no attachment to anything, no need to fight for what you believe in, no hate to words others, because you can not love them, you can not hate them. Its hard to grasp, but its the most simple and direct reason, would there be a signal war if love did not exist, no, why because there would be no ambition to further ones self, to concur, to assimilate, to grow territory, there would be nothing to fight for, or nothing to lose, there would be nothing, lol, Hitler wouldn’t have killed, Stalin wouldn’t have either, no jihad, no 911, no Iraq war, no weapons at all, because no need.

Dear Sir,
I highly recommend the book "Happiness: A Guide to Life's Most Important Skill" by Mattheu Ricard. He is a bio-chemist-turned-monk and clinically the happiest person in the world as he participated in a study where they did brain scans on monks while they meditated. The brain regions associated with happiness and positive emotions were so highly activated in Mattheu it was a record shatterer, so he is quite the authority on the subject. I think you will find some answers in his book if you are willing to take the time to read it. Good luck, and remember, peace is only present if you take the time to nurture it in your frame of mind.

I think you're asking if there will be a time in your life during which no one will war against anyone else. In the 10's of thousands of years of human existance, there has NEVER been a time when humans did not battle each other somewhere. You understand that of course. Given that, the likelyhood of humankind deciding to STOP fighting each other in the next couple of decades is very, very small.

Peace in life is hard to find, but on the other hand if you don't have peace in your life it means that you are still living it to the fullest: with all its worries, bright days and dark times.
Maybe it is not so bad.

Ralph, find the unconditional love within your own heart, within that love is peace that surpasses all understanding. Let go of your concern for the world, it is in the very capable hands of God, if he needs our help, he will make it know. Abide in your unity with God in unconditional love. from there it certainly helps all to say a prayer of gratitude now & then. Love whistle britches

You can have peace right as you are reading this. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart as your Lord and Savior. He will give you peace. Pray about it.

As long as human beings, freewill, and sin exist in the same plane, total global peace is impossible, as people will always have conflicts that they refuse to compromise over. So i guess all we can do is wait until the Day of Judgement...
