I had a Western Civ. class and the guy was a rambling instructor. You couldn't follow him from the book because he would jump from one century to another back and forth till you wouldn't have a clue what he was talking about.
He love to give tests that consisted of three possible subjects and you could chose whichever you wanted. He wanted a minimum of 2 1/2 pages..3 if you could manage it.
I knew a test that I was very unprepared for was coming up. I mentioned it to a friend of mine who had had him as an instructor. He said not a problem. Pick something out of the three that you know just one thing about. Expound on that and write like he talks. You are creative enough to fill in with redundant statements that you use as "filler".
Test day and the three subjects were alien to me. I sweated for a minute then started out by writing the subject in a sentence and started writing about crap I did know by transistioning into it.
I didn't get an A, but I slid through witha B+. Blew my mind!!!

When it comes to essays in college, what they are teaching is not only the subject but they also want you to learn how to write. So your "fluffing" it up demonstrated that and thats why you got an A.
I actually turned in the same final project for English 1 and 2. I changed a few lines, and made he margins bigger to make it seem longer, but they were basically the exact same papers. I got an A on both of them.

Adding pretty words and fillers makes a story interesting. I'm glad you're doing well in school.

I did that for 4 years in university, as did every other student and teacher, as well as the people who wrote the books.

Yes, all I basically do in college is make up random stuff and put it in my papers. As long as you explain what you are talking about, you get a good grade.

Afraid not, my writing skills are no where near what they would need to be for an a paper. I was a b-c student in writing/english.
