Or to insert an Excel document into a database? If so, could you please tell me how? Thanks.

You can do that, but I can't remember all the steps off the top of my head. Best thing to do is open Access and type "import excel document" into the help bar and you should find the step by step instructions.

The biggest difference between Excel documents and Access documents is that Excel is used for a database that uses only a single table only. Access documents can have multiple tables that can be made and then the specific information of the table can be found using a query. Those queries can be specific, simple or complicated. Queries are used in both Excel and Access, but Excel is limited to one table while Access has multiple tables.

(At least, that's what my instructors have told me.)

Whether or not they can be converted, I don't know, but I do know it can be really hard to do it. When in middleschool, I had created a large document in Excel only to find out 3/4 of the way through that it was supposed to be in Access. Trying to copy and paste worked, but it messed all of my columns and rows up. It wasn't fun to clean it all up in an hour when it took twice the amount of time to create it.

You can import the data that you have stored in the Excel document into a table in Access.

If you want to do this open access and create a new database.

Next go to file, Get external data and then import

Next you find where the spreadsheet that you want to import data is saved and press import. (you may need to change the file tye to Excel so that you can find your file)

This will run a wizard which you will need to follow through, it is simple to follow and mainly just involves clicking next and changing the name of the table.

When this is done your data from the spreadsheet will be in a table in Access.

Hope this helps

I don't see why not? Microsoft made sure that documents could be transferred between one another. Might just want to open up one into the other and see what happens. At the most you would get a jumbled looking document, but then the original would still be untouched.

Your form is a template. that's analagous to an get correct of entry to database table's schema - the number of fields in each list. you've a field for call, date, type of contraband siezed, and so on. the form is performed, and this will develop right into a list. each of the files at the same time make up a table - one for each form. each of the tables at the same time make up a database. In Excel, each form's field names are entered as column headers in the first row, and the man files are entered one row at a time. One form in line with worksheet. at the same time as that's theoretically plausible so that you may basically import your performed note archives into both Excel or get correct of entry to, the likelyhood that you've prepared your note archives to help this kind of import is slender to none. information imports of this manner are oftentimes finished from undemanding ASCII information which have a delimeter - a particular personality that seperates one field-fee from yet another, and performance in undemanding words a unmarried list on each row. you may nicely be able to edit your human being note information right into a draw close .TXT record (by ability of form style) that could nicely be utilized to operate a knowledge import, and save your self the problem of easily having to rekey each thing.n Database programmers make sturdy money doing this kind of work so that you do not ought to.
