I would say nothing at this age. And cereal in my opinion is not a good first food, it's full of carbs.....Talk to your doctor.

You are the parent!! This is your choice. Many organizations and people will tell you different things, from some who believe a baby can live on breastmilk alone for 1 year... to those who start feeding their little ones solids at 3-4 months.
Again, you're the parent.. so this is your decision to make. You're not "allowed" or "disallowed" by anyone... It's your responsibility to do the research and make an informed decision about which way you'll go.
And yet, you're asking this question of complete strangers. Might I suggest you get a couple books on caring for a newborn/young child, read them... further research those things you have questions about... and then raise your child based on which of those options works for you.
There is no RIGHT or WRONG answer to this question... it's all about what works best for your child and your family.
In answer, though... the best baby book I ever read said we shouldn't equate "readiness" for solids with the baby's age, since they vary so much in birthweight and growth-rates... Instead, when babies reach around 14 pounds, they'll be getting ready for some more substantive foods.

Just formula or breast milk for a 3 month old. You can start checking for signs of readiness at 4 months (and most experts now agree that 6 months is best). To learn more about starting solids check out www.babycenter.com
Once you do start, the first food is rice cereal. The you can start introducing single vegetables and fruits one at a time with a 4-5 day interval between each new food to isolate potential food allergies. First foods are generally sweet potatoes, pears, prunes, carrots, peas, green beans, peaches, applesauce.

Nothing other than formula, at this point... In another couple months you will notice the baby isn't completely satisfied with just the formula and you can add the baby rice cereal to the bottle to fill his belly a little more - but not at 3 months. He needs the nutrients in the formula for the first year of his life. He'll be healthier and happier! :)

The most recent findings show that a baby's system does not have the digestive enzymes for food until SIX months of age. Introducing food earlier than that can cause your baby to be constipated and/or have irregular weight gain. Long-term, it can mean a lifetime of obesity, food allergies, and digestive issues. Its WELL worth waiting until 6 months to feed your baby food.
When you DO introduce food, start with baby cereal. Then move on to veggies and meat. Introduce fruits last, or your baby may be spoiled by the sweetness and refuse meats and veggies. Introduce ONLY ONE food a week so you can watch for allergies.

at this stage your baby isn't really ready you should buy baby cearel give him or her just a few spoons full so their digestive system can get use to it. later move on to vegetables you should really feed them thatfirst so they can get use to them instead of the sweet fruit. Its also good to give them the same type of food for a good three days so you can see if they have an allergic reaction to that food. Its easier tha way you will know well you fed him carrots yesterday and today he broke out today he must be allergic to carrots. But wait at least till the baby is four months or close to four months. Oh and if you dont want your baby to get constipated you should give tham some prune juice with thier food . But you should talk to your doctor he knows these things more then me or any one that might give you advice. If your baby doesnt have a pediatrician you should get one .

I've been told that the earliest to start baby food is 4 months. My son's pediatrician told me start with the green veggies first...do one food at a time for a few days to make sure there are no allergies. Then start with another one, don't give the child anything other than those two for another few days (still give them milk or formula, obviously), and so on. Then start on yellow, then orange veggies, then fruits, then meats.

No. At 3 months I wouldn't give that child anything other than formula and a bit of water...seek the guidance of your physician, they have lit. on what to give a child at what ages....i also suggest taking a parenting class, they also have a lot to offer in terms of learning more about babies/ your baby
