well my brother was ran over by a drunk on Christmas eve. she killed him and never pulled over to even check on his corpse. so yeah some times bad things happen to good folks on Christmas's.

Well my disaster is nothing compared to some of the above answers...
Christmas 1999, I broke my arm after tripping over a christmas parcel under the christmas tree.
The Christmas after my father broke his leg doing the exact same thing.

It was about ten years ago when my son was 3. I thought i had put all the pressies under the tree. It wasn't till after the pressies had been opened that i remembered a whole hoard of them were in our trunk!!!!
Another time i forgot to eat the mince pie and drink the sherry so when my son came down he started to cry saying santa had not liked his supper.
I felt terrible
Another time myb husband was assembling a toy xmas morning with my son and his knee locked. He ended up missing xmas lunch and spending most of the day in a and e. I was so upset..

Christmas Eve of 97, my mother fell down the basement steps... Hit her head on the concrete floor. She died 10am Christmas morning. Needless to say, I don't really care for the holiday season anymore

Our daughter once found a doll that was going to be from Santa, under our bed, LATE on Christmas eve... it was truly a disaster...
But we told her that we were hiding it for Grandma... then we traded a present with Grandma in the middle of the night.

My disaster pales compared to true tragedies.
In my case it was being out all night with mates, coming in at five AM to see my mum's friend loading pressies into her car, and getting an upbraiding from the friend for being out all night and she having to come help out in transporting things to my brother's house.
