I have my computer hooked to my 1080p 50" HDTV via VGA connections. It works but the picture isn't taking up the entire screen, there are still about 2" of black on the top and bottom and about 6-7" of black on the sides. How to I get the picture full screen?

Go to he advanced features on your display properties in Windows.
Go to the brand specific utility for your video adapter.
Choose "Display 2"
Choose Display Settings & then Device settings.
You should find a control utility for manually resizing the viewable areas.

You will have to set the monitor resolution to the "native resolution" of your television, or at least somewhere close.

This can be found in the specs of your television.

You might want to consider using a DVI connection if you have that capability. With a tv that size, you will see a pretty big difference in image quality.
