Windows Vista is the new operating system realesed from microsoft. It is kind of a version of XP but more better. Though it has some good features it eats up a lot of memory so if you have a computer and want to upgrade make sure it is Vista Capable and Has at least 512MB for a basic version of Vista and you want an advanced version you will need at least 1Gb of memory and a windows areo capable video card.

Microsoft Windows Vista is yet another fine operating system in the tradition of Microsoft Bob, and Microsoft Windows ME.
Much of the world already has Microsoft XP (home or Pro) or Windows 2000 Pro (Win2kPro) and some of it still uses the Windows 98 2nd Ed (Win98SE).
Microsoft Support for Win98SE has stopped a while back, simply they won't make anymore patches for it.
WinXP and Win2k are excellent Operating Systems (OS) from Microsoft. But these OS's have been already sold, and businesses need to have new products to sell, and make the older products obsolete, although WinXP and Win2k are not obsolete yet, they are probally scheduled for non-support already by Microsoft in order to insure that you HAVE to buy a new OS to replace one that works perfectly fine.
So the short answer to your question is: Widows Vista is a money making tool for Microsoft to replace a previous system that the only thing wrong with it is that the market is already saturated with it.
Oh, and don't forget DRM.... 'nough said on that!!!!

Windows Vista is the newest operating system (OS) that Microsoft has come out with.
It is like any other OS, Windows XP, Windows 2000 etc. those are all Operating Systems.
This program is what makes your computer run, but don't upgrade to it just yet because there are still bugs.

It's just a newer version of the Microsoft Windows Operating System.
It does the same thing that Windows XP does, with a bunch more features.
But, it is still new and has many bugs associated with it. I would wait for a half a year or so to upgrade.

It is the next version of windows designed to have a huge processor overhead so you have to buy a very fast, very expensive computer just to run it, and then it doesn't even run very well. It's designed to allow microsoft to make money selling windows, and intel to make money selling to new processors to run the damn thing.
Stick with windows XP, or better yet, stick with windows 2000.

Its Microsoft's new way to make you give them money. There aren't too many differences from XP, and the hardware requirement is steep even for a lot of newer PC's. I wouldn't bother upgrading until it becomes necessary.
