In the context "He gamefully fought on." My computer and all the online dictionaries I searched seem to think not, but I've seen it lots of places.

No, gamefully isn't a word. Gamely is however.

In the phrase "He gamefully fought on," the context implies that he fought in a jovial or sportsmanlike manner, in which case the proper word would be gamely, which means "in a game or plucky manner."

Could you be confusing it with the word "gamely," which means "in a plucky manner" and which makes sense in your sample sentence?

I'm not familiar with that word - even in that context.

GAINFULLY as in: "gainfully employed" IS a word... but I've never heard of game-fully.

Peace.
