Yes. It can affect the test whether it reads positive or negative.

Ask the doctor to check for pregnancy when you go to the doctor for the infection. He will be able to tell from his test.

I don't think a UTI can effect the readings of a HPT. I mean when were you due for ur AF? Sometimes it takes a while for the pregnancy hormone to show up in, or the test you are taking is not strong enough to detect the hormone. I had a friend who went to the doctor because she had a UTI and while there learned that she was pregnant. What a shock huh. So you very well might be pregnant. Drink lots of water and cranberry juice... I hope that you get the results that you are hoping for n Good Luck!

NO..a UTI will not affect the outcome of a positive or negative result....Hcg is present in your urine when you are pregnant, and it wouldnt change a result if you have an infection....however you do need anitbiotics from your Dr. to clear up the infection...Good Luck!
