He was supposedly born in Wales and when he was 16 he was captured by Irish pirates and brought as a slave to Ireland. Six years later he escaped and returned home where he joined the church. He eventually became a bishop. According to legend he had a dream where the Irish people were calling to him to save them from hell or something like that. So he returned as a missionary to Ireland to spread Christianity to all the pagan people...and succeeded.

There he recieved education and got his calling to be a Bishop. He became a Bishop and then God, My Lord and Savior , called him back to Ireland to preach the Gospel to all the Irish people. I'm Irish, did all this in school!
Its not certain where Saint Paddy was from, but they guess France or Wales. He came to Ireland to teach Christianity, due to most of the Irish being of "pagan" faith. As it was so long ago, and not well documented, its hard to know, but popular legend tells us this much at least.

he was born in wales, kidnapped and sold into slavery in Ireland. he was a shepard while in slavery, if i remember correctly. i think he had visions while he was in Ireland, but I'm not sure.
at some point, he returned to wales and had more visions. this prompted him to return to Ireland and convert the natives, who were still pagan.

March seventeenth. do no longer flow to the NYC parade. My mom dragged me there as a baby and over the years i became: stomped, stepped on, pushed, peed on, puked on and pushed into the line into horse manure. for particular to on the present time I actually have a phobia of parades.....hmmm ask your self why?
