I don't know but I bet they pay good money.
There's probably always a need for them it's just very difficult.

There is so much you can do with a forensics analysis background. If I was smart in the science area I would have totally gone that route. Instead I am going the CJ and criminology route. You can get a job in any police department, and they are always looking for analysts for the FBI or a crime lab. I dont know much about the forensic area in Ireland or Europe, but in the US it is very popular. You will always be able to find a job because crime is not going to go away anytime soon. Try doing web searches on jobs in forensics.

As a Police Officer I can tell you that forensics is a much needed part of crime fighting. BATMAN and SHERLOCK HOLMES have transformed the normally unheralded job into something cool and gave it credibility. Lately the CSI shows (all of them) have been the catalyst to peoples career.

You should take pride in what you want to do. Forensics is cool. Go for it.

to become a job or an success in forensic depends very much on the other degrees you have.
If you go to med school forensic can open more carrier choices.
It might also help with crime analysis and biology.

but regarding a carrier oversees, it depends on all your qualifications and of course you language skills.

there are lots of jobs. I don't know specifically about Ireland or Europe, but in the US there is the CIA, FBI, policefoce, and even working on college campuses. I would suggest maybe doing a double major or major/minor with psychology. the background in psych will help.
