I don't think it means anything really to "be a man" or "be a woman". They only have biological meanings. It does, however, mean something to "Be a Person/Individual". I think people need to stop thinking in terms of "what does it mean to be a man/woman" and start thinking in terms of "what does it mean to be Human/An Individual". It's only when we develop who we are as Persons that we attain true confidence and learn who we really are. It's very powerful.
So, Being a Man or Being a Woman mean nothing. Hundreds of years ago, they meant "protecting the tribe/hunting" and "having children/taking care of children". In the new millenium, biology is rather meaningless, and the Individual is more important than the good of the tribe/community.
After all, we each have a combination of male and female characteristics within us, so for me to say that I'm purely a Woman is actually incorrect, because my personality suggests otherwise. (and so does yours!) :)

A real woman is a woman who takes responsibility for herself and her family. She knows when and how to balance her life as best she can. She loves deeply, laughs easily, cries even more easily, has passion for the things and the people in her life no matter if she's a stay at home mum, a single career gal, an swinging granny or a teenager or little girl. She knows there's more to life than just the material things and is in touch with whatever that means to her. She's compassionate, empathetic, kind, tender but knows when and how to draw the lines for her boundaries. She can be soft, she can be tough, but she knows who she is and she's not afraid to stand her ground when she has to.
She 's educated but that doesn't always been a university education and she puts that knowledge to the best use she can. A woman always goes to her highest self that is what makes her a real woman.

making a woman a real woman is when she's doing everything on her own. she works at a good job and it pays good. she is a single woman without children. and doesn't depend on NOBODY but herself. she has a home of her own and not living on someone else's expense, and the fact that she has a car to get where she wants to get, when no one else would bring her to get there. that's what makes a woman a real woman

That's silly, it is the physical distinction that makes a woman a real woman. Otherwise she is a real man. Emotions can be felt by both man and woman.

Courage, compassion, integrity, spontaneity, intelligence, strength, patience and humility.
"Perhaps we should first take time to contemplate why tending to relationships, like changing diapers, is predominantly women's work...In relationships between dominant and subordinate groups, the subordinate group members always posses a far greater understanding of dominant group members and their culture than vice versa".
