how would compare african men to african american men? in my experience, the african men i know do not fall into their sterotype of domineering and controlling; yet the african american men fall in the steretype of, well, dogs. what do you think?

I am a white male with an African girlfriend, she has been in the USA for 4 years and she hates the black American men. Also of the African men I know have gone to school, gotten degrees and great jobs so it kind of blows the whole being held down rhetoric the black Americans like to spew out. The African immigrants are completely different group of people with a structured set of values. Most are even shamed by the black Americans calling themselves African Americans.

Personally I don't see how blacks in America can defend their rap emulating behaviors and lack of responsibility for children and themselves as culture, it is anything but it is a plague on their kind.

That's a very unfair comment. Men are men, regardless of where they are from. If you look around or follow the news, you will see many examples of domineering men. When you call men dogs, you show a lack of respect and when you show a lack of respect, you also disrespect yourself.

Also, observing a few African-American guys is not enough to define the group. You do not have a fair enough sampling.

in my experience there are differences but many of them are the same differences i see between americans and immigrants. many americans have a feeling of entitlement, like someone owes them something. as a result americans tend to be a little lazier than alot of immigrants. as for your contention that one set are dogs and one arent, i have known alot of africans and african americans, in my experience some men of both groups are dogs and some men arent.

well their are may different cultures in Africa, so some african men are going to be much more paternalistic than others.
