Constipation is *very* normal during pregnancy.

Make sure to drink lots of water...your body is making lots of extra fluids right now to support the baby, and they need to be replenished. When you deliver, you will have 1 and a half times your normal (non-pregnant) amount of blood circulating in your system!

You can also try eating foods that are naturally good at getting things moving inside...like bananas, pears, prunes (or prune juice). Bran/fiber can also be good for this.

Sorry to hear you're on bed rest, but good luck with the pregnancy!

Constipation is as normal as you make it in a pregnancy. Try eating more fiber and be sure when you are laying in bed to lay to your left when you start getting bigger. Constipation is related to hemroids, and laying on your side takes the added pressure off of your bottom area.. I am going on 10 weeks and just recently had the problem.. Try the fiber and plenty of fluids... Best of Luck on the bed rest...

i got this, badly, when i was pregnant so i totally sympathise. pregnant ladies can't use conventional laxatives so i went to see my doctor and he gave me some liquid to take. it tastes like sweet syrup and does no harm at all to baby. if you're struggling to go, i would recommend getting some of it.
the fact that your bedrested won't help as exercise helps the bowel movement process, if possible try some light exercise, eg, walking to the park. good luck!!!
