So I've read that she is mostly black and latino with a slight touch of white. So over all shes like most blacks AFRICAN DESCENT ranging from colors from singer seal to Mariah carey its all what makes black people black americans thats why we are African descent because we are mixed with other things. Nicole Repotly said on the Tyra banks show that she considers her self African american because thats her main race and in an interview with Norm MacDonald she also stated she was Black just because she dosent have the stereotypical dark brwn skin dosent meen she isnt black. Ok Nicole seems very offended when people mistake her for full latino or white thats why she refers to herself as black but then why does she straighten and die her hair blonde and date nothing but white guys. She seems to be proud of her african american herritage

She is a beautiful girl, she can do whatever she want with her hair. Even I am tired of my kinky nappy hair, I want straight hair too to comb it out and curl it up nicely. Many women
dyed their hair. Even Beyonce and Oprah dyed their hair.
Maybe black guys didn't ask her out for a date.
Maybe black guys can treat her better than these white
guys she dated.. yuck, they treated her so bad. Maybe
Lionel Ritchie didn't take her to mostly black community
especially Harlem or Jackson Mississippi or Memphis Tennessee where she can learn more African American heritage... maybe Paris Ho brainwashed her.

Nicole has a mixed heritage - rumored to be Latino and Caucasian. This does not make her black, however, I am sure within the decendants of the Latino family, there may be some blacks there. I believe that Nicole relates to 'blacks' basically because her adopted father, Lionel Ritchie and her adopted mother, Brenda - were black. Additionally, her life has been a mixture of both whites and blacks and therefore her influences are of all races. Lionel Ritchie travelled the world and having money, was able to expose his daughter (often too much) to many facets of life. As far as her hair - she does not have to straighten it - dying it blonde might be one thing - but doesn't mean anything. I love blonde hair on black women - when it's done right and doesn't look cheap. Additionally, I have found in my life that when you have money - money attracts money and she has travelled the world and met many people - her dating habits, in my opinion only reflect the numbers of men and the opportuntites she has had. She is 25. In her circle of friends - there might not be many African American young men with money - and you don't think she is about to date someone who has none - now do you?

A large number of African American or black women straighten and lighten their hair. Merely because Nicole Ritchie straightens and lightens her hair does not mean she wants to be white. Clearly, by her own comments Nicole self-identifies as African American. Furthermore, you have no clue as to whether or not Nicole is approached for dates by black men. Does the fact that Tiger Woods is married to a white woman mean he wants to be white? Or does Kobe Bryant want to be Spanish because he's married to a Hispanic. The singer Robin Thicke is married to a black actress, Paula Patton. Does that mean he wants to be black. The last time I checked it's 2007 and people are free to date who they wish, as well as use whatever beauty products they deem beneficial to their overall look.

Does it make her any less black to dye her hair blonde or date white guys? NO!
She probably relates more to her African ancestry than any other also because her adoptive family is black. Therefore, culturally she was "raised black" too.
Also, don't plenty of "real" black girls dye their hair too? And some date white guys. Ooh, so if they do both, they're not black?
That's just ridiculous.

I didn't know that she was african. I thought she tanned too much. And yes, she seems to act like she is white, but it doesn't really matter. I mean it's good she's proud of her heritige.
