so you don't run around in a panic and get yourself or others killed, if you don't know what to do, you might not find the fire exit.
better safe than sorry. Although where I work, I'd love some of them to burn to death!

its so that all staff are aware of fire exits and procedures. trhis enables you to assist others out in a calm manner if a fire should start

Becuase people will be in danger if they do not know where the exits are!! If you have people running in all different directons it will take longer for them to get out and people may possibly get hurt or trapped!!
