First off its obviously a freshwater tank. I had this problem too, but what I did was I put my goldfish in a separate bowl, that way you could get more fish. Fish are very limited in freshwater. They are very hard to find without heaters and such. I have three tropical fish and two African Dwarf Frogs in the same tank. I have a beta fish all by himself in another little tank. Okay, but here is your biggest deal. You have a turtle in there with your goldfish?? Any pet expert may tell you that a turtle really should be kept by himself. Now what you could do is get a cheap bowl to put your goldfish in, and if you want more fish with him, get a big bowl and put him in with maybe another goldfish and a few guppies. Thats really all you can do with a goldfish. For the tank with the turtle in, get another turtle so he can have a playmate thats really the best you can do. Here are some ground rules that might help you out.
1.) Nothing else can really go with a goldfish, so get a guppy or two, and maybe another goldfish. The reason is because of water disagreements.
2.) A turtle is really difficult to match things up with. When I was going to get a turtle, they told me to keep it by itself or get another turtle.
3.) Remember the golden rule: 1 fish=1 gallon of water. For example, we have three tropical fish and two african dwarf frogs. The tropical fish and the frogs are very small also, so size does matter. 3 tropical fish=3 gallons, 2 frogs=2 gallons. Works out great cuz we have a five gallon tank. But if you get a big fish, about as long as your finger and as wide as two fingers, or the average size of a large goldfish, that would = 2 gallons. So one of those would be 2 gallons of water. Make sure you know how many gallons your tank takes. a turtle, depending on how big, can take up to 4 gallons of your tank. You may already be over your limit with the fish in it.

I hope this helps ya out.

Unless that's a quite large tank you shouldn't add anything else. The goldfish really need about 30 gallos between them if they are the fancy varieties or about 90 if they are common goldfish wheich get much larger. The cleaner fish is probably a pleco which will get about a foot typically, but sometimes as moch as 20". Most all turtles will eventually eat fish and that will become a problem in the future, especially if you include any small fishes. Goldfish are coldwater fish so adding any of the tropical suggestions about would not be a good idea. Truth be told, goldfish make the best tank mates for goldfish and feeder fish are really all you should house with a turtle.

Depends on how big the tank is. Goldfish tolerate tanks that are very small without air pumps or water movement. Most of the other fish people keep require both air bubbles and/or filter pumps that move and air-ate the water. (Fish need to breathe too.) The most compatible fish would be small catfish. They tolerate condition change almost as well as Goldfish and help to clean the bottom of the tank. (They eat leftover food, not waste.) You did not mention a heater. Most tropical fish require a medium range of temperature, 68 to 75 degrees F. Without temperature control fish other than Goldfish and catfish would be at risk. Good luck.

Oscars are the coolest fish for fresh water. Look up pictures on the internet. Theres also Albino ones. You can train them and hand feed them. Once they got to be the size of a kids hand I could gently pick them up out of the tank and hold them in my hand for 30 seconds without them minding but this takes time. They are a cichlid family fish and have larger brains than most aquarium fish but are aggressive and territorial. I grew 4 of them and even had them jumping out of the water taking food right from my mouth. They eat anything and love live bloodworms. Theres a color enhancing Japanese fish food called Hikari that makes thier oranges on the body and fins almost glow. Over the long run the best fish for the buck. The bigger the tank the better 90 gallons+. Once they get large they eat other fish though. They'll even breed and have little Oscars too.

I would be careful about spending much money on any fish as long as there is a turtle in there. What kind of turtle is it? We had a couple of turtles and it took them a while, but they did eventually learn how to catch the fish.

It doesn't really matter, the turtle will eat any fish you put in their when he gets bigger. You may want to go for guppies as they are, I know it sounds harsh, but dispensible and cheap yet beautiful and reproduce alot. In the long run this could mean a never ending food supply.

Fan tail guppies and Neon Tetras have always been favorites of mine. Careful with the guppies tho. They reproduce so fast, you might have to get another tank.
