I can't narrow it down to 1, so here are my top 4:
* Hope for the best, but expect the worst
* Only God can judge me
*Suck it up buttercup
* I know what I am, and I know what I'm not and I'll be damned if anyone tells me different

Expect the worst. When it comes, you are prepared and if it doesn't, you are pleasantly surprised.

Here's a sampling of the many that I have. I can't narrow it down to one, and I dare say that I ought not to live by life by just one, either:

Carpe diem or "seize the day".
Little things add up.
Only God can/may judge (anyone) - in other words, don't be judgmental.
Sometimes, to get along you have to go along.
Just be nice.

Maybe a few of them sound corny, but that can't be helped. Sometimes, the most well-worn motto works best, because it works.

Cheers!

I have a few:

1) Keep life simple, it leaves more time for fun

2) Think of five things that made you happy today (this is especially good when I've had a REALLY bad day).

3) Ask yourself whether you are happy, and you cease to be so (during my downer type of days)

according to my love, her favorite quote goes something like this...its not the amount of breathes we take throughout our life that matter. its the about the moments thattakeour breath away. ...now thats not exactly right, but i think the point is still made.

Get up every day and give it your best shot.
The cream always rises to the top.

Two of my favorites.

My motto? "Jesus paid it all; all to him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow...." (words of a favorite song)
