It depends on what kind of vitamins you are taking. Some are toxic in large amounts. Follow the label directions.

It depends on the source. More and more science is showing that SYNTHETIC vitamins are either useless or harmful.

However, more and more science is showing that supplements made from natural food sources are bioavailable and efficacious.

The next issue is quality. Most supplements are just shot through a processing plant and the end-product is not tested for quality control. That means you could be spending your money on stuff that isn't actually there.

So you want 100% food-source vitamins, ignore the hype about liquids, and make sure that the company has a quality control program that proves they make good stuff...an industry buzzword is "GMP" which is a standard of processes for manufacturing and quality control.

Even the American Medical Association, in the Journal of the American Medical Association, pointed out that virtually no one can receive enough nutrition from diet alone due to the low-availability of nutrients in our modern food supply. The recommendation was that doctors consider recommending dietary supplements to their patients.

Very few people need vitamin supplements.
If you have a balanced diet, you get all the vitamins you need.
So unless your doctor has said otherwise, any supplements are a waste of money.

And it is possible to overdose on vitamins, especially the fat soluable ones that build up in your system.

If you think you want to spend you money this way, follow the directions on the bottle, not what some "SO CALLED EXPERT" says in a book or article,
