Connect your iPod first. Then, go to My Computer and double click the iPod icon.
Go to Tools > Folder Options > 2nd page (view) and choose to have all file types shown.
Go back to My Computer, then click on the iPod icon again and into your music folder and send any song you want to your My Documents.
Hope that helped!

well, provided that your friend's music was purchased from the itunes music store, you can do this:
plug the ipod in, and wait for itunes to load.
when the ipod icon appears, itunes will warn you that the ipod is currently associated with a different library on another computer. itunes will then ask you if you'd like to associate the ipod to your library, click no.
then, click on the checkbox that says "enable disk use"
minimize itunes, and open "my computer"
under "devices with removable storage" you should see an icon representing the ipod. explore that folder, and copy all of the music to your computer- remember the location you copy the files to.
once you're done copying, go back to itunes, and from the file menu, select add folder to library. browse for the folder that you copied the files to and click open.
you'll probably have to rename a lot of the files, but they dhould be there.
please note: if any of the music was purchased from itunes, you will only be allowed to play those songs if you provide the apple id and password of the person who bought the music.

I don't think you can, you have to go from the computer to the ipod or I don't think you can take from the ipod to the computer, I don't know if you can go from ipod to ipod.
It has something to do with the copywrite laws...

you can't do it without erasing everything off of the ipod, and that would be illegal...
