Other coldwater fish like:

cherry barbs
giant danios*
zebra danios*
rosy barbs*
almost all danios
rosey red minnows
white clouds
hillstream loaches (group of 3)
dojo loaches (group of 3)
mosquito fish

Make sure you have a large enough tank for the fish before adding more! (the * fish are schoolers and need atleast a group of 6 to keep them happy)

Another goldfish perhaps. Or a few guppies. But like I already told someone, a small fish is one gallon of water in the tank. A couple guppies would be 1 gallon of water. Those would be awesome tankmates for it, as would another goldfish, any size depending on if you have enough water for it. (Don't crowd your fish.) Those are really all that can go with a goldfish. Water disagreements make for a disaster. Ask a pet expert when you come in to get another fish.

Another cold water fish such as goldfish or maybe some white cloud mountain minnows. Keep in mind though that a single goldfish needs 20 gallons and then 10 gallon for each additional goldfish. So to get another goldfish, you need at least a 30 gallon tank.

The more goldfish the better! I firmly believe in schooling all goldfish if the room is available. My formula for that is one square foot of surface water per one inch of goldfish. They need lots of water surface due to the amount of waste they produce through their gills and their feces. Be sure to always match body type. A Common Goldfish will eat all the food before a Black Moor, for instance. Good luck and great choice on a freshwater fish! These fish are great!!!! did you know their memories are alot longer than 3 secs. studies have shown a blind goldfish recognized a certain family member and their friend merely through their voice (auditory vibration)... they recognize the person that feeds them the most be getting excited everytime you walk by!!! Great Fish

Depends on how big the tank is. Another Goldfish would be good along with a small catfish or algae eater. Goldfish tolerate tanks that are very small without air pumps or water movement. Most of the other fish people keep require both air bubbles and/or filter pumps that move and air-ate the water. (Fish need to breathe too.) Fish need room to move too. 1 - 2 gallons per medium fish is a safe rule. Catfish and Algae eaters tolerate condition change almost as well as Goldfish and help to clean the bottom of the tank. (They eat leftover food, not waste.) You did not mention a heater. Most tropical fish require a medium range of temperature, 68 to 75 degrees F. Without temperature control fish other than Goldfish and catfish would be at risk. Goldfish are not tropical so becareful what you mix with them. Good luck.

They'll try to eat the shimp. If you have at least 30 gallons get him another goldfish of a different breed. Ryukins and orandas are very nice and showy.
GOLDFISH with GOLDFISH ONLY!!! And if you didn't know that means a PLECO as well. Pleco will eat your GF eventually. You all will believe me when you have a poor GF dieing bc all its scales were sucked off during the night.

Another goldfish, but make sure your tank is large enough. For 2 goldfish you would need a minimun of a 10 gal tank. The goldfish bowls really are not the thing for a goldfish of any size.

Good Luck

another goldfish any lfs(local fish store) should help you with this one goldfish are brackish water, snails are good, i prefer freshwater for starters and salt for well upper parts- (i wonder if a pleco would pe ok in your tank) remember if you have a tank it depends on how big it is if your putting in more than 1 fish it needs a filter and if it is more than 5 gallon(1 gal too) it needs a heater. 1inch of fish per gallon you have so 5 gallon take 5 inches of fish tail to head of every fish add together!

A few people gave you a number of great choices for tank mates for your gold fish. Pleco's are also a great addition if you have the room.

I agree with everyone else. Another goldfish would be ideal, but don't forget all tanks need some kind of "tank cleaner" fish. Catfish, Alga Eater, etc.Good luck.
