Some women are vain and some aren't. Same is true for men. Society puts more pressure on women to appear perfect physically which puts a lot of pressure on women to aspire to that. Hence, all the beauty products, clothes, dieting tips etc. Plus, men give a lot of attention to women who take care of themselves in the physical sense. Once women are valued more for their intellectual offerings and people would stop buying magazines and watching shows about dumb asses like Paris Hilton etc. , women wouldn't be so vain. If all women cared about was men's appearances then men would be the same.

I don't think all women are, some men are vain too. In nature mother nature makes sure mama is not easily identifiable , whereas the male is brightly coloured and brash. Kinda the same with humans when you think about it , unless you're in fashion, movies, tv or the entertainment industry LOL
