Thats really weird,.....in my school the 8th graders are going on a trip to Washington D.C. too!
Whats letter does your school begin with?!

Um sorry, back to the subject, I still think he would have to room with boys, because the girls might feel uncomfortable.

He is a boy so he should go with the boys. This kid probaly isn't planing to be doing the hippity-dippity on this trip anyway. When you decide to come out of the closet you are going to have to except the fact that your parents might not let you have you friends spend the night anymore, but your teachers can't do squat!

Being a Bi-Sexual female, I can only give my opinion. I think he should be rooming with the boys. he's too young for a school trip to become anything "sexual". Even if he is gay, he is a boy and should be allowed to stay with the boys. They can't make exceptions just for one child.

Every boy and girl gets into situations where they have to control themselves.

If you need to sleep with your head at the foot of the bed so as not to feel tempted to start smooching with your bed-mate in the hotel room, that's an option. Just don't kick him in the nose. You can even ask for a cot from the front desk if you need to.

You've already controlled yourself in numerous situations, and I'm certain that you have that capacity in you. Have fun in DC. That's the primary thing to be thinking about.

Sleep in the boys room, statisticly he wont be the only gay boy there. Nothing will probably happpen but if it does no one else will know, its just something that happens with boys even if they are gay or not, boys try it out, thats a fact.
Dont worry he/you will be fine. Take care David :)xxx

I think he can have some self control and some self respect, just like the other kids. Are you planning on rooming black boys with other black boys only as well?

hahahahaha. that's funny. as long as he doesn't try and bum-rush any of the other boys while they're changing, it's ok for him to stay in the boy's room.
you also have to think about what the girls are comfortable with. i'm sure a bunch of 8th grade girls wouldn't want a boy in their room

With the boys. Even if he ever tries to do anything to the other boys, I'm sure the others can fend him if they don't want to take part in it.
