Had a big night last night and feel a bit tired and hungover. Ment to be going to a pub in town for a friends birthday. Haven't seen her for almost two years. Have invited her to a few things and she has cancelled at the last minute and I have done the same - for genuine reasons though. She will be the only one I know there and shes not a really good friend either, but have told her now I'd come. The other thing is because its Paddys day town will be really busy. If you think I shouldn't go what reason would you give? In a dilemma as feel really slack letting her down, but just can't be bothered. Also, good TV on tonight. What would you do? I have an hour to decide. Thanks.

don't go and just tell her that you had a big night last night and your not feeling well. honesty is the best policy! besides,if she isn't that good of a friend and you haven't seen her in a couple of years.........does it really matter what she thinks? if she stops calling, then you 2 won't have to stop letting each other down. john

Tape the show.
It's her birthday. What would you think if the positions were reversed? Maybe the reason you aren't such good friends anymore is from not seeing each other.
Don't worry about not knowing anyone - this is a great chance to meet new people. And who says you have to drink a lot? Take a few tylenol, have a nap, and then get ready to go!

I would just tell her that I couldn't make it because I was really stupid and got drunk last night and now I feel really bad. Then I would say I know I shouldn't have done that the night before your party, but if you can forgive me I'll make it up to you later. If she is a true friend she will forgive you and tell you that the make up better be awesome. Of course laughing the whole time.

Stay home with your TV. Just tell her the truth that you are tired after a big night. Good friends will understand & forgive, the other kind shouldn't matter in the first place.

Text (or phone) her, invite her over to your place for a cosy night in. Quickly pop down to the Offy for a nice bottle of wine...
Have a brilliant evening.
