Also there is Carcass and Suffocation.
If you like melodic death metal, there's Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Amon Amarth, Kalmah, Insomnium and many others.

Not sure how death you're going for, but Napalm Death, Sepultura, and Cannibal Corpse are pretty wicked. Slayer, too.
