My best friend joined swim team this winter, around the time when I got a job. Usually we're both free in the winter, so we hang out a lot, but not this winter. Now it's spring, I've quit my job, swim team is over, I've started track (but it's not a big time commitment.) She just has sort of stopped talking to me for no reason, and won't hang out with me, and when I asked her what she was doing for St. Pat's day, she was very vague in terms of what she was doing, and who she was going with. I'm just hurt, because she wasn't like this before she joined swim team.

It's simple: I want my friend back. Is there any chance of this, or should I just give up? I've been trying for about a month now, and she's still just...not behaving the way friends do. I'm bad at making friends, and I've had this one for almost 10 years, so I don't want to give up...it's just I've already tried so hard, but she just doesn't seem to want to see me anymore. Any opinions on what I should do next?

mh seems like she might have met some new friends on the swim team and maybe spending all that time apart she just got busy and caught up in her life... I wouldn't stress it, just give her some time ... call her every once in awhile just to say hi and see what happens ... and if she ignores you then it's time to move on ... you're not giving up on your friendship, if she does then there's nothing you really can do except be happy for her and be there if she needs you ... just because you don't get to hang out doesn't mean that the friendship is over

Hi

First I just want to say to you just try to cheer up, I am pretty sure things will get better for you all you need is time. As far as your friendship goes you can't make anyone like you if she chooses not to want to hang out with you, you deserve a better friendship. In the end your better off finding a real friend you knows how to communicate when he or she feels like theres a problem in the friendship. GOOD LUCK!

You may have just drifted apart during winter. but dont worry, keep contact. If it's been such a long time since you two have hung out together, maybe all you need is to go to a movie, or do something fun. friendships suffer when you dont talk to each other.
