Acoustic you cant plug into an amp.

electro-acoustic you can plug into an amp, but can also play acoustically, as it has a hollow body like an acoustic.

bass is lower sounding and traditionally has only 4 strings but you can buy 5,6, and 7 string versions, possibly more. You can get acoustic and electric basses.

An acoustic has a hollow wooden body so that it 'sounds' without electronic amplification.
An electric has a solid body (is thinner but heavier) so it needs an amp. Therefore, it has a plugin on the end.
A bass guitar is usually electric but is differentiated from the above by range. It is bass as opposed to treble of the above.
An electro-acoustic would have the amp plugin but also a body that can sound by itself.

The first guy is right, but there is more. The term electric-acoustic or semi-hollow is commonly used to describe thin and hollow electric guitars like Epiphone's Sheraton model:

Different from that, but equally confusing in name is acoustic-elecctric - those are regular acoustic guitars to which an electronic circuit is added so they can be plugged straight into an amplifier instead of using a microphone to amplify them (you won't see any difference betttween these and plain acoustic):

A bass guitar has thicker strings, deeper tone, produces notes roughly an octave deeper than ordinary guitars, has a longer neccck & larger frets & overall different techniques of playing, and a different role in a band.

acoustic is just your basic non electric guitar, electric acoustic is when you can play the acoustic guitar either hooked up to an amp or without out-- the amp just makes it louder and bass is the back ground rhythm
