This is new to Canada and Toronto. Electrical not cable internet and VOIP telephone.

Don't pay for that service yet, though it may be wise as an investment. Check out the links below. Wiki says, "Power lines are inherently a very noisy environment. Every time a device turns on or off, it introduces a pop or click into the line." So Europe will have it before North Americans, because their repeaters have more muscle.

"The second major issue is signal strength and operating frequency." In a nutshell, powerline broadband would wipe out shortwave, which wouldn't go down well with lots of folks.

Yea, its a new Technology still being developed...do some research on it...Way to much info to type out...
They are also developing Gas Pipe Broadband....
