Sadly he won't retire and will end up passing Aaron sometime this year.

As much as America has grown to really hate Barry Bonds he is going to break the record this year. He already has 4 Spring Training homers so its going to happen early in the year. I think it'll be in Mid July to Early August. I really don't care if he breaks it anymore because even if he breaks Aaron's record its only safe for a maximum of 10-15 years. Maybe sooner if A-Rod finds his bat again. Even if A-Rod doesn't get there, Pujols will. And if Ryan Howard is as brilliant and strong as he looked last year, then he'll have a shot too. I say we let Barry get the record so he can have that little bit of glory to only have the record torn from him when it's broken by another one of todays stars. Oh it will be so so bittersweet.

Bonds did alot of work in the off season to strengthen up his knee. That, along with an elbow problem hurt his numbers last year. I would look for him to have a big season. .335 AVG 38 HR 105 RBI 150 BB. This would put him well over the record and set him up for his 800th HR the season after.

This is an extremely difficult question. Do I think he is able;YES. Will he do it;????? The stress is intense at this point, and I have to believe from Aaron's experience, that the death threats are real. Does he deserve to? That isn't what was asked. If Bonds can stayed at all focused and healthy, YES; either this season or next.

Assuming he doesn't break a knee between now and September, I suspect he'll pass Aaron sometime late in the year, maybe August or September. But when he does, he'll get booed if he's not at home and the media will give it a ho-hum.

oh he'll get it. If we know anything about bonds it's that he's selfish. that being said he will stay, hurt the team in more ways than one and beat aaron but he will never be the champ.....well maybe of steroids.

I think Bond's body is too ravaged by the drug which he takes, and he is too injury prone. I think that he will not even finish out this season, if he plays at all.
