I said "Hey,wussup TONY!" but ANTHONY says "That is Not my name" (Nobody gives him an Attitude)
but when people call me "Dave" I tell em to call me DAVID (the Name my mother gave me)

Some people get enjoyment out of aggravating someone when they find something that pisses them off. So they now know by calling you dave instead of david angers you so they get enjoyment out of it because they get a rise out of you over it. I would just ignore the people doing it and make simple mistakes in the future by referring to them by their name. like for example Hi John, when their name is Jim. Then if they correct you say, "oh whatever" or "same difference" or " it doesnt matter what your name is". Then maybe they will get the hint on how it feels.

My younger brother has your same name... we always called him David before I moved away from home. Then I came back one day, and all of a sudden everyone was calling him Dave. He will always be my little David!

People should just call you by whatever name you like. that's why I am known as Princess Moonbeam... But maybe you just don't seem like a David to most people?

Well I know a David & a Dave & it's how I call them. Either way I'm ok with how someone tells me they prefer to be called.
After all it's your name, so it's your choice.

My husband used to get annoyed when someone called him Dan instead of Daniel. But he doesn't mind now bc whenever someone shortens your name like that, it's usually bc they like you.
