No chance. Durant is only a freshman, at that age and that much talent no team would pass on him. There are many other great players who went no where in the tournament but still get drafted high. Teams can draft him for his talent and expect his leadership and experience to grow through his NBA career and eventually win championships for whatever franchise drafts him. The tournament means nothing for him.

He's doing pretty good so far with 27pts and 8 boards the other day. I think that his draft prospect is set in stone and I expect the same results out of every additional tournament games. Whether his teams wins or not I see him getting atleast 25 pts and 8 boards a game.

Yes. If he doesn't perform well in the tournament then all of his skills would evaporate. It would seem as if he had never picked up a basketball and Texas would throw away his scholarship. He would then move to Southern Alaska where he would hunt seals for a living.

No way. The kid is a shoe-in. No agent is going to recommend somebody that doesn't have his body or skills.

Even if they could find a player that best suits their team, they would pick him for fear of being fired or ridiculed.

That's way some ridiculous players under 6'3" get overlooked.

no, he's already proved himself a top 5 pick. The tourney is about the team. not the team's star player.

Why the hell would that ruin his chances in the NBA? I'd take him 2nd even if his team didn't make the tournament at all.

No way, 7 teams are already waiting for the 2007 Draft so they can pick him.

This will not effect his chances one bit.

not a chance. upsets happen in this crazy tourny, no team is crazy enough to turn down durant. baron davis back in his UCLA days, they lost to detroit mercy in the tourny, yet he was still a top pick in the draft. and i would say things worked out pretty good for him.

1 bad game doesn't decrease a players value.
However if he has a tremendous tournament and is somehow able to lead his team to the final four, he will solidify the #1 spot.
