In general, yes, although some older computers prefer matching RAM. Go to and let it scan your computer and it will tell you what memory configurations will work.

In an ideal world, YES to both questions. But knowing some motherboard manufacturers, I'd read my documentation before making such an investment.

Probably not. If you are lucky some of one will be used and if you are not lucky your computer will not boot.

If you get 1024 with two it may have better performance from interleaved access is if works at all.

Yes you can, but you must ensure they are of the same type of ram. Meaning the new would would have to be the same type as the old one.

www.crucial.com has a good memory scanner, as well. Typically, your situation should yield a yes answer.

they certainly will but you must find out how much your motherboard can support usually its 2gb so you should be ok.
