well i read this book a long time ago so i don't remeber the names of everyone but i remember slim. Slim was created as a foil for one of the main charachters in the book . The one that is the smart one not the other one out of the 2 main charachters. a foil is a charchter that is used to create contrast between another charachter. Slim is put in to contrast between the other guy because they are soo different
